Instructions for Sending Logo Artwork By Email
- Use artwork that meets quality requirements. Images captured by digital cameras are ussually not acceptable as they are too blurry and indistinct. Similarly, images obtained from web pages are of no worth;
- The image may be scanned using any standard image editing program (i.e. Corel Photo-Paint, Adobe Photoshop);
- "DPI", also known as "PPI", is an abbreviation for Dots per Inch or Pixels per Inch. The higher the resolution, the higher the quality of the scan. However, this elevated resolution does create a rather large file, one that will not be easily sent via e-mail. Depending on your system, it may be necessary to scan at a lower resolution;
- Select the correct color setting within your scanning program. This setting identifies the type of artwork being scanned so that the scanner can adjust accordingly. If you have black & white camera-ready slicks, select the "Line Art" setting. Artwork is not generally of this caliber and will need to be scanned using "Millions of Colors" for the best clarity;
- Be certain that the graphic is placed on the scanner so that the image is as straight as possible. This will ensure a better-finished product;
- Crop the image in an effort to scan the smallest possible object. For instance, if your customer provided a sheet of their letterhead, do not scan the entire sheet. Instead, using the cropping device, select only the logo portion;
- Acceptable File Formats: Save the file as a High-Quality "JPG" file. If a JPG filetype is not an available option, please format the file as a
- Unacceptable File Formats: Low quality GIF, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point , Macintosh Files such as PICT or SIT.
- You are now ready to Be certain to attach the image file and provide the design particulars (size, style, colors, etc.). It is best to send each scanned image as separate e-mail transmissions.
If you are preparing your first e-mail request, please scan only one image and stop. Submit it for our review. Since all programs and scanners differ, there may be some fine-tuning required before we can accept the artwork.
We hope that these instructions are clear and that you will have much success using this service. Please do not hesitate to contact Doormats & More should you have any questions or require additional information.
